The compliance between Ministry for Agriculture and consortium for LPIS establishing ended with a contract. For the technological and technical part of this project Cosylab is providing
the solutions, and they were successfully tested by Ekotoxa Company
.
GIS
business unit of Cosyab
is well known by their solutions in the market of
web applications in Slovenia and abroad. Our main advantage is in providing effective and powerful solutions for big systems with many concurrent users, who are accessing and managing the data
through the web. Consequently, our main customers are ministries and governmental agencies, where the high reliability and security of data is of great importance. For the needs of Slovenian Ministry
of Agriculture, Forestry and Food the LPIS - Land Parcel Identification System
has been developed, and the big success of the project is used as a showcase to other countries of SE Europe,
where there is a need for similar solutions of land and parcel management.
We are already in process of building a similar system in the neighboring country Croatia, with its population twice bigger and an area almost three times larger than Slovenia. Accordingly, the tasks
to be handled by our solution are estimated to be more extensive, but we expect no difficulties with that, as our solutions are based on our own knowledge and experiences, so the system can be easily
upgraded and extended.
The project will be carried out with consortium leaded by King ICT Corporation, the biggest system integrator in SE part of Europe. The already proven value of the products and solutions of GIS
business group of Cosylab in this area together with the knowledge of trade and business relations were key elements in gaining this project. The fact that Slovenia is a member of EU is also an
assurance for new costumers, that Cosylab technology they are involving in their state managing is based on international standards and principles.
