Controls Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Controls Software Engineer to join our global technology team. This position for work performance is in Chicago, Illinois (employment in our branch company Cosylab USA with headquarters in Palo Alto, California).

Job role

As a Controls Software Engineer, you will design and develop distributed control and data acquisition systems for particle accelerators and will be responsible for systems analysis, requirement gathering, design, implementation, integration, testing, and documentation. Most of the development will take place in the EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System) toolkit often used within the particle accelerator community.

This position has a multi-disciplinary role, teaming with software and hardware engineers, and has continuous interaction with scientists comprised mainly of particle accelerator physicists and operators.

As part of the onboarding process, an extended stay (2-3 months) at the company's headquarters in Ljubljana, Slovenia, is expected. In this period, you will be familiarized with the company, its people and processes.
